I recently celebrated another birthday, and like many of us who find ourselves in midlife, it’s got me reflecting. Life is moving fast, sometimes it feels like it’s passing me by and I think that’s something we all start to notice once we reach this stage.
Birthdays have a way of making you pause. To look back at where you’ve been, but also to look ahead at what’s still to come. For me, this season is less about chasing more and more, and more about choosing with intention. Choosing how I spend my time. Choosing who I spend it with. Choosing what kind of business I want to keep building.
Personally, I’m setting goals that keep me grounded and healthy, physically, mentally, and spiritually. I’ve learned that growth doesn’t always mean doing bigger things; sometimes it means doing the small things more consistently. Taking care of myself, showing up for my family, and being present for the moments that matter most.
Professionally, I’m focused on continuing to grow my boutique brokerage the way I always have, through referrals, trust, and integrity. I don’t need to be the loudest voice in the room or the busiest face on social media. My values are simple: honesty, hard work, and service. Those are the same values that built this business nearly 20 years ago, and they’re the ones I’ll carry forward into the next chapter.
Midlife has its challenges, but it also brings clarity. Clarity about what matters. Clarity about what no longer does. And for me, that clarity has turned into a deeper commitment, to keep showing up, to keep serving my clients well, and to keep living a life rooted in the things that last.
So here’s to the year ahead. To setting new goals, to honoring the values that guide me, and to remembering that while life may move fast, we get to choose how we live it.
